HYDRO MOBILE COMES WITH THE PERFECT SOLUTION TO A CHALLENGING JOB
In 2005, the ventilation system of the Complex G building, a 408 feet skyscraper in Quebec City, had to be renewed, implicating a complex replacement of several water towers. At the time, two possibilities were considered for the job; using either a helicopter or a crane. It became soon obvious that electric cables and antennas on the roof, combined with windy and cold conditions did not make these two solutions viable. This is the time when Du-For, Hydro Mobile’s distributor for the Quebec region, came up with a much more cost effective and suitable way of overcoming the challenge; the F-series mast climbing work platforms.
With this solution, the busy street on which the building was located remained open to traffic at all times, and Hydro Mobile’s platform, carrying 33 feet long steel beams and 5,000 lb. water tanks to the building’s roof, became a curiosity for many by-passers. The monorail on the F-series mast climber was then used to transfer the material directly on the roof of this 408 feet structure.
