Hydro-Mobile benefits

SAFETY. Safety’s not a word, it’s not a procedure, it’s a behavior.

As active members of the CSA, ANSI, and ISO standard organizations and as part of the SAIA committee structure (Scaffold and Access Industry Association) in the US and Canada, Hydro-Mobile is a leader in the design and fabrication of MCWPs (mast climbing work platforms). Since 1987, Hydro-Mobile has been actively involved with the implementation of sound engineering solutions, in accordance to safety regulations and industry standards, for the most demanding applications.

Mast climbing work platforms have contributed to safe working at height in a major way since their inception, with their combination of stability, load capacity, speed, and efficiency while also providing increased safety at height.

A partnership with Hydro-Mobile is a partnership with an industry leader, with an ethos, and with levels of international experience and credibility unmatched in the industry, and all with one aim, ever increasing safety and productivity.

Moving forward, Hydro-Mobile is committed to continued product development while raising the standards of safety in the industry.

Safety & efficiency:

Uniquely engineered to transport personnel and material, Hydro-Mobile platforms are designed for a safe and reliable operation. The use of our platforms equates to an increase in productivity, the reduction of worker fatigue, a decrease in injuries, and ultimately, an increase in safety.

Two units on a common tower:

To allow site personnel to work at different height elevations, two independent motorized platforms can operate on a common tower. We have considered the use of overhead protection on the lower platform to protect personnel from possible falling objects.

Erection & dismantling time:

Based on our own analysis between the installations of mast climbing work platforms & traditional tubular scaffolding, we know there are labour savings to be considered for setups of over 75 feet in height. For example, in the case of bays BCD or EFG, we estimate a labour savings of approximately 60% when installing/dismantling Hydro-Mobile platforms. We have provided for analysis site costs for each type of access proposed.

Optimization of equipment rental:

To maintain rental costs low and for those periods where the platforms are not in use (at bays BCD & EFG), it is possible to transfer such equipment to bays A & H for operation. Due to their modular design of our platforms, it is easy and simple to convert double tower setups to single tower setups. This would result in the provision of less platforms for a period of 5 months approximately, hence resulting in cost savings for the entire project.

New equipment rental:

To maximize the overall success of your project while ensuring ease of operation, we have the intention of supplying only newly-built platforms for the Muskrat Falls project.

Uniformity:

We have considered the platforms required at bays BCD & EFG are similar in design. Hence components can be used on either setup during the course of the project. The same is true for those setups required at bays A & H.

Available accessories:

A wide range of Hydro-Mobile optional accessories are available. Some of which include: an independent hoist system allowing the raising or lowering of loads from an elevated platform, electrical outlets providing 120 V power for personnel power tools, an independent transport platform allowing the transfer of personnel and material, and more.

Various configurations and sizes:

The FTP allows for multiple configurations, designs, and car sizes not possible with standard construction elevators without compromising safety. Single or dual FTP's can be mounted onto a single Hydro-Mobile tower.
